Morse code is a method of communication in which the message is sent in a code using light, sound, or electrical pulses. The message is encoded using dots and dashes to represent each alphabet, punctuation, and number. Used previously for sending messages over long distances. Morse code was invented by Samuel F.B. Morse in the 1830s and became an essential tool to be used during World War II for communication on land and at sea. Many times, morse code was used by marines to send out distress signals or SOS.

This lesson allows students to connect the morse code electrical circuit using a simple switching circuit. At the same time, students can experience how the morse code was used as a form of communication during the war. A morse code translator or decoder app can be installed on a mobile phone to translate the code into text.

A challenge task that requires some analytical thinking is also included in this package.
