There are many types of electrical conductors. The most common are copper wires that are used to power homes and buildings with electricity. Organic material such as human tissue, fruits and vegetables can also conduct electricity via free movement of ions. These materials are considered ionic conductors.

We use batteries to power our devices. It is mainly produced by a chemical reaction or from storage of electrical energy.

This experiment allows students to understand an alternative renewable source of electrical power called ‘Food Battery’ as an alternative to the traditional battery to power up an electrical device.
