More than 10 years ago, it is common for the use of hardware dongles connected to the Parallel or USB ports for the protection and licensing of software.

There is a huge problem for this method of protection.  Apart from the possibility of a loss of the dongle, you must also maintain an old computer or invest in a working parallel port just to read the dongle.

In 2006, hackers have released software to the world to enable emulation of the hardware dongles so that loss or theft of the dongles will not be a huge problem.

Thanks to this website, I am able to emulate an old HASP HL dongle for my LPKF Circuit Cam version 2.0 software which I still use to churn the cutting and routing data for use on LPKF PCB cutting machines.

You need to have a working parallel port, hardlock and the enabling numbers for the respective protected software for the emulator to work.

At first I was skepticle about the software but it has been proven to work.  Many websites have sprouted on the web to offer the service to dump a hardware dongle for this emulator.

Now, I can use my old software on a new computer with this emulator!
